Decoration Record:
Decoration: Member of the British Empire (London Gazette: 37433 Page: 495 Jan. 17, 1946)
Citation: Burma. Citation for MBE: Period under review - 16 Feb 45 to 15 May 45. For just over the past twelve months Maj. LITTLEBOY has been APM of this Div. It was in no small measure that due to his diligence and devotion to duty in Feb this year, the Div less 99 Bde, carried out the long, strategic move from IMPHAL to the IRRAWADDY RIVER with such ease. He had many difficulties to contend with: the period under review saw the transition of the Div from a standard one to a 100% two-mechanised Brigade - One; (the third Bde even being fully mechanised with improvised MT in later stages). In addition one Armd Bde less a Regt augmented the force. When the time came for the Div to marry up with 255 Tk Bde, cross the river and commence its dash across enemy occupied territory for MEIKTILA, it was Maj LITTLEBOY'S consistently good provost arrangements that enable the road movement and traffic control to work smoothly. The entire force had to be moved frequently in one day, through enemy occupied country alon one road. The credit for the success of this both in the IRRAWADDY -MEIKTILA phase and MEIKTILA - SOUTHWARDS, must go to the Provost services for the excellence of their control as exemplified by the APM. imperturbable under fire, always cheerful, he set a fine example and by his utterly tireless good nature, richly deserves the award for which he is now recommended. Strongly recommended for MBE Maj-Gen Comd 17 ind Div. Lt-Gen Comd 4 Corps. Gen C in C Allied Land Forces SEA. National Archive WO 373/81.
