| Citation: | Singapore. 1 Jan 1949 - 30 June 1949. Citation for BEM: This NCO was for a long time in sole charge of the S.I.B. Detachment, Malaya - by his efforts crime in that Area was capably and efficiently dealt with. He carried out many very involved and complicated enquiries, and most of them were brought to a very satisfactory conculusion. Some of these enquiries took this N.C.O. into the backlanes of Malaya, into areas which are now being patrolled by Civil Police and Military, but this Sgt.
