Notes: | MMP. Awarded the Victory and War Medals. First served abroad (3) Egypt, 27/2/16. National Roll of the Great War 1914-1918, Section XII, Bedford & Northampton, Page 255. Volunteering in November 1915 he proceeded to Egypt in February of the following year, but was shortly afterwards transferred to Salonika. Invalided later to Egypt, he proceeded on his recovery into Palestine and there took a prominent part in the capture of Jaffa and Jerusalem, and was wounded at Gaza in March 1917. He was mentioned in despatches for distinguished services and in March 1919 was demobilised holding the General Service and Victory Medals. 45, Louise Road, Northampton. |
