Notes:MFP. From Dublin. Served Home. Info from Service Record: He was born in Portadown, Co Armagh and enlisted in Dublin aged 42 years. He previously served 23 1/4 years in the Dublin Metropolitan Police, PC 187 A. He worked at Chancery Lane Police Station, Dublin at time of enlistment. Enlisted 24/7/1916. Appointed Sergeant 6/3/1918. Demobbed 31/1/1920 Dublin and resided at 56 Harty Place, Clanbrassie St. Dublin. He remained in Dublin throughout the War. A letter in his army record from the APM Dublin dated 8/7/16 states: With Reference to the attached AFB 203, would it be possible to enlist this man as a special case for service in Dublin. His experience and local knowledge would be invaluable to me. As you are no doubt aware conditions are strenuous here at the present time.
