Repatriates in Liverpool. Mingled experience. The Ordum, the eighth repatriation ship carrying ex POW and internees from the Far East arrived at Liverpool yesterday. She had on board 313 Army Officers, 1,300 other ranks, one Royal Marine, and twenty civilians. One of the first Merseyside men ashore was Sergeant Harry Fairhead (33) a member to the Corps of Military Police whose home is at 39 Melbreck Road, Mosley Hill, a former member of the Liverpool City Police. He was met by his father, a retired Sergeant of the City Police, his wife and three year old daughter, Gillian, whom he saw for the first time. |
