Promotions in Bath, As already announced, a number of promotions in the Bath Police Force have been approved by the Watch Committee. Sergt. E G Hawker, who becomes an Inspector, joined the Force in 1913, and served in the last war from 1915 on wards. Among his decorations were the Military Service Medal and the French Medal of Honour. He was in the Military Foot Police. Extract from the Bath Chronicle and Weekly Gazette, 29/9/45. MESSRS G H A TRIM & E G HAWKER RETIRING. Two Bath City Police Inspectors Messrs G H A Trim and E G Hawker are retiring. There resignations were accepted by the Watch Committee on the 21st and the Committee's appreciation of their services is to be places on record. Inspector Hawker joined the force when he was 19 in March 1913. From 1915 to 1919 he served with the Corps of Military Police. He rejoined the City Police after the war and was promoted sergeant in July, 1926 and Inspector in September 1939. He retired on the 30th of this month. Both Inspectors would have retired but stayed on owing to the war. |
