Notes:MFP. Awarded the 1915 Star, Victory and War Medals. First served abroad (1) France, 22/9/1915. Formerly City of London Police. 26/10/1896 he enlisted in the Coldstream Guards, No. 670, age 18.6 years, occupation farmer, born Stretton Baskerville, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, address: father Glebe Farm, Weddington, Nuneaton. formerly served in the Warwickshire Yeomanry. Served 26/10/1896 to 8/8/1900, South Africa 9/8/1900 to 4/8/1901, Home 5/8/1902 to 25/10/1908 to discharge in Army B Reserve. He joined the City of London Police and as a constable took part in the Olympic Games in London in 1908 wining a Gold Medal in the Tug of War. After his War Service he rejoined the City of London Police and won another gold medal at the Antwerp Olympic Games in 1920. In 1915 he re enlisted in the Military Foot Police he was a member of the MFP Tug of War Team in 8/1915 winners of the Inter Command Cup. He was awarded the 1911 Coronation Medal.
