| Notes: | MFP. Awarded the Victory and War Medals. First served abroad (1) France, 3/5/1916. 14/7/1915 he enlisted as a Pte. 41 Company, Army Cyclist Corps. No. 8221, 9/4/1917 transferred to No. 1 Traffic Control Company, 17/8/1917 transferred to MFP, 23/6/1919 to discharge. Letters in his army record show that he lived in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia and he came back to England to enlist, his Father's address was Branston, Nr. Lincoln, after the war he applied for a repatriation journey back to Australia. A letter in his record from the Transportation Branch dated 19/11/1919 states: Reference your letter undated. It has been noted that you failed to embark on SS Ormonde and, therefore, your claim for free repatriation has now been finally cancelled, and you must make your arrangements for your return as a later date. Shown on the Ripon No1 Demobilization Acquittance Roll as being given £2, 12/7/1919. |
