Citation: | Military Medal Citation.France & Flanders. Whilst under considerable aerial bombing at ACHICOURT this NCO commanded his section of Military Police which had been armed with rifles and anti-tank rifles for the defence of ARRAS. With great coolness, courage and ability he afterwards rendered valuable service at ARRAS when Petre Force was withdrawn. His work on traffic control largely contributed to its successful withdrawal. During the operation which followed he continued to be a fine example to his men by his disregard of personal safety and proved himself to be a very valuable NCO. Awarded the MM.
