Senior bailiff at West Bromwich, Mr. Bertram Jones , who has been an officer of the County Court for 14 years, is retiring at the end of the month.
He joined the staff after retiring from the Staffordshire County Police Force in which he served for 32 years, the last 17 at West Bromwich as a sergeant.
A Wednesfield man, he was at one time in the mounted police at Stafford and Bilston and served also at Old Hill.
As a police constable at Rushall he enlisted during the 1914-18 war in the Military Mounted Police and served in France, Belgium, Italy and Austria.
