Sir, With reference to your letter of the 10th instant, I have to inform you that recruiting for the Military Police is not now being carried out from this office but a limited number of vacancies have been allotted to the various Military Commands. I would therefore, advise that you apply to the recruiting officer of the district in which you reside who will be able to inform you whether there is a vacancy in you area for the Corps. Please not that candidates for the Military Police must not be over 36 years of age, be strong and medically fit for immediate service with an Expeditionary Force Overseas, For the Military Mounted Police not over 161 lbs in weight. I would point out that should there be no vacancy for any one particular branch of His Majesty's Army the fact should not deter a man from offering his services for some other unit. Yours faithfully Lt. Recruiting Officer for Commandant, Military Police. To Mr. A E Jeffrey, 60 Seaside, Eastbourne. 4/12/19 awarded £2 on the Crystal Palace Demobilization Acquittance Roll.
