SOLDIER'S POCKET PICKED.
NOTTINGHAM WOMAN SENT TO PRISON.
"I am innocent" said Ellen Jarvis, alias Steer, 36, lace hand, 6 Ashley Street, who was sent to prison for two months by the Nottingham Guildhall magistrates to-day on a charge of stealing £3-10-00 in Treasury notes from Ernest Insley. of the Military Foot Police.
The evidence showed that the woman met Insley in a public house last night. He treated her to a drink, and later left the premises. He again say the woman, and she put her army around his neck, and with the other extracted the notes from his pocket. She ran away, and he gave chase. When caught she denied the theft.
