Another member of the Derby Borough Police Force who has won a military decoration is L/Cpl S Foster, who has been awarded the Military Medal for an act of gallantry for which he distinguished himself last month. An ammunition train was set on fire during German bombing operations, and at great personal risk, Foster, with the assistance of a number of men of the Royal Engineers, extinguished the flames and succeeded in saving a large quantity of ammunition.
