Sailed from Southampton 1/5/1916, arrived Rouen 2/5/16 on SS Lydia. 5/5/1916 to APM Boulogne. 14/12/1918 DPM L of C Abbeville. 27/9/1918 substantive Cpl. 18/8/1919 to UK for discharge.
His brother Montague G T Durston 1/4 Dorset Regiment died in Iraq 29/5/1916 age 23 and is buried in Basra War Cemetery.

BATH SOLDIER'S DEATH IN HOSPITAL.
PTE "MONTY" DURSTON, OF THE DORSETS.
Pte. Montague Durston of the Dorset Regiment, Indian Expeditionary Force, and fourth son of Mr. Harry Durston, formerly residing in Ashley Avenue, Lower Weston, now Stationmaster for the S and D R at Highbridge, has died in hospital abroad.
Deceased, who would have been 24 years of age on Tuesday, was a well known member of St. John's choir, but moved to Shaftesbury as a clerk in the Wilts and Dorset Bank and enlisted in the month following the outbreak of war.
Pte. Harry Durston, who was formerly in the Bath City Police Force is abroad in the Military Foot Police, and Mr, Ivor Durston of the S and D R Staff, has joined the Railway Operating Division, which we understand includes men from most of the railways in the kingdom. Mr. W N A Durston, of 13 Shaftesbury Avenue, Weston, another brother of the deceased is also in the S and D R Offices at Bath.
