On Monday Mr. Nicholls had a letter from Detective Green of the Borough Police, now serving as a Corporal in the Military Mounted Police in France, and in which it appears that on the 17th instant he was slightly wounded in the face, hand and leg. Fortunately the injuries were sufficiently which slight enabled him to remain out of hospital and at date of writing he had not left his unit, although having paid sundry visits to hospital. Hailing from Yorkshire. Detective Green joined the Warrington Force in 1903, since which date he has figured prominently in the police cricket team. He enlisted about two years ago and after training at Aldershot was drafted to France, where he has been throughout. Article has a picture of Mr Green in civilian clothers |
