Naas Soldier Decorated. L/Cpl James Hooks, Military Foot Police, son of Mr John Hooks was on Sunday last presented with the Military Medal at the Curragh, for bravery in the field. The presentation was made by the General Officer Commanding after church parade. L/Cpl Hooks was the only one to be decorated on this occasion. L/Cpl Hooks was employed at Naas Post Office and went to France with the Ulster Division in October 1915. L/Cpl Hooks has been on continuous service in France since October 1915 up to the present. He was gassed at Armentieres. |
