News has been received in Barnsley this week that PC Thomas Gammage, of the Borough Police Force, and now serving with the Military Mounted Police in France, has been removed to hospital at Boulogne having been gassed. Gammage and fou5r comrades had been quartered somewhere near the firing line and two days after his removal to hospital the bui9lding was shelled by the enemy and the other fouy4r constables were injured. |
