Belgian War Cross Awarded - Among the recipients of the Croix de Guerre, conferred by the King of the Belgians for distinguished serviced during the course of the campaign, appears the name of P/2673, Lance Corporal Albert William Littlewood, Military Mounted Police, of Barsby.

POLICE SERGEANT'S FUNERAL.
The funeral took place on Wednesday of Police Sergeant A W Littlewood, of Rushall, whose death, last week, was reported in last Saturday's "Observer." Sergeant Littlewood who was 46 years of age, died in Birmingham Eye Hospital. He had seen nearly 26 years service in the Staffordshire County Constabulary and during the Great War served with the Military Mounted Police on the Western front and was awarded the Belgian Croix de Guerre for devotion to duty. Prior to the internment at Rushall cemetery, a service as conducted by the Rev. Cummings Gourd, at the Congregational Church, Rushall. Before the commencement of the business at the Rushall Police Court, on Monday, the Chairman Alderman J F W Binns made a brief reference to the loss that the County Constabulary had sustained in the death of Sergeant Littlewood, wh. he said, had proved himself a courteous, zealous and efficient officer. He expressed the sympathy of the court with the family and the court stood in silence for a moment as a mark of respect.
