At Colchester Police Court on Tuesday, before the Major and other Magistrates, the Clerk (Mr. C W Denton) read a communication from the Garrison Adjutant, stating that he was directed by the Brigadier-General commanding the Garrison to acknowledge the receipt of Mr. Denton's letter of the 24th ult., expressing the appreciation of the Borough Justices at the conduct of Corporals Allen an Essex, of the Military Foot Police. General Robb was much gratified to hear of this evidence of good feeling existing between the civil and military police, and of their common desire to enforce good behaviour. |
