He has been stationed at Uttoxeter for four years and has carried out the duties of clerk to Supt. Hodkinson. He leaves with the goodwill of townspeople generally, for his courtesy and tact in the discharge of his police duties have made him thoroughly respected throughout the district. PC Croton, who has been stationed in the town a few months, has also enlisted. On Wednesday evening Supt. Hodkinson entertained some friends at the Police Station to mark the departure of PC's Bott and Croton, both of whom were presented with suitable gifts subscribed to by colleagues and friends. |
