Citation: Libya. Citation for BEM: Between 23 Oct 42 and 17 Feb 43 on the road to TRIPOLI Sgt SALTER has been in charge of a Provost Section whose responsibility has been to regulate the distribution of Traffic on the road, at its start on the route forward, working in close co-operation with Movement Control. Several unsolicited letters have reached the office of the DPM Eighth Army in praise of the work of this NCO together with verbal attestations from a number of other sources. Sgt. SALTER has served with 105 (Army) Provost Company since the formation of Eighth Army and has given first class service during twenty months up and down the desert roads and tracks, on isolated desert posts and in towns as occupied. He has set a fine example to all ranks in the Army Provost Service and in particular has carried out his duties with the utmost efficiency on detachment, his officers knowing full well that supervision of his work can be cut to minimum.Lt-Col T C Irvine DPM Eight Army.
