| Citation: | France & Flanders. France, Citation for MM. During operations N.E. of YPRES on October 31st, 1917, this N.C.O. was on duty at the Divisional Advanced Prisoners of War Collecting Station. he displayed great courage and devotion to duty for over 24 hours, in controlling traffic, assisting in unloading ammunition from broken limbers, assisting in the removal of a broken wagon which was impeding traffic, in addition to his duties at the Collecting Station, whilst under heavy shell fire. He also gave valuable assistance to the staff of the Advance Dressing Station at the same place, by aiding in the evacuation of wounded, and controlling the traffic in such a manner under shell-fire, that the working of the ambulances was not interfered with.A.P.M. 63 (Royal Naval) Division.
