Served Home 6/3/1899 to 27/1/1900, Gibraltar 28/1/1900 to 26/10/1902, Home 27/10/1902 to 5/3/1907, Army Reserve 6/3/1907 to 4/8/1914, Home 5/8/1914 to 1/11/1917, BEF 2/11/1917 to 21/2/1919, Home 22/2/1919 to 23/3/1919, class z reserve 24/3/1919. 27/1/1906 he married Lilian Greenough at Thatcham, they had 5 children. 24/2/1919 he received £2 on the Chiseldon I Demobilization Acquittance Roll.

2nd Witness: No. 792 L/Cpl A E Collins, MFP states:- At Canterbury on July, 2nd 1915, I received information that the accused No. G/27 Pte A E Bushell was staying at 9 Sealand Terrace, Canterbury and was an absentee from the 6 Bn. The Buffs. At 10.15 pm I went there and saw the accused, I said "are you Pte Bushell", he replied "yes", I said "are you on pass" he replied "yes", on sick leave," He then said "I came on pass from the 15th to the 18th of April and while on pass I was taken sick, I forwarded a Doctors to Major Farley, Commanding "A" Coy, 6th Bn. "the Buffs" and as they did not acknowledge it I thought I had done all that was necessary". I told him I should arrest him for being an absentee and I the handed him over tho the Garrison Piquet.
