He has 3 medal cards Tom Richard Dennett, Dennett F R and Dennett O R. Extract from the St. Helens Examiner 15 September 1915. NEW POLICE INSPETORS - Three Sergeants Receive Well Deserved Promotion. The Watch Committee, at their meeting on Thursday, on the recommendations of the Chief Constable. promoted Detective Sergeants Reddington and Holland and Sergeant Dennett of the Borough Police Force, to the rank of uniform inspectors. All the three officers are exceedingly well known in the town and thoroughly deserve their promotion. Sergt. Dennett, who became a constable at the same time as Inspector Reddinton, is at present serving as a sergeant-major in the Military Mounted P9oolice on the Western Front. He was an ex-Army man and prior to joining the force he served some years in the 5th Dragoon Guards. He was promoted sergeant in 1912 and has been chiefly engaged on staff duties at the police station., Both Inspector Dennett and Inspector Holland were on short leave in Warrington a fortnight ago. |
