Mr Charles Macpherson one of the Perth City officers, has been "demobbed." He was a Sergeant in the Military Foot Police in various parts of France, frequently at advanced positions. Twice mentioned in dispatches for meritorious service. On one occasion Sgt MacPherson then a Corporal, was escorting by train two Australian soldiers where his prisoners when they sprang from the moving train, and attempted to escape. Sgt MacPherson leapt from the train in their pursuit, and succeeded in capturing both.
