During the Boer War he is reported missing 6/1/1900 returning 30/9/1900, board of enquiry held. Awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, Army Order 128 of 1917. BEF service 19/2/1915 APM L of C, 30/7/1915 PM 1 Army, 5/1/1918 APM, Rouen. Class Z Reserve 28/6/1919.
