Hookins, A E, Sergt, 25 London Regiment (The Queens) and Military Police. Six months after volunteering in September 1914, he proceeded to the Western Front, where he saw much heavy fighting. He was wounded in action at Givenchy and after only two months overseas service was invalided home. On his recovery he was engaged in important duties with the Military Police until 1918 when he returned to France. he was finally demobilised in June 1919, and holds the 1914-1915 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals.
