He originally enlisted in 1904 and at the declaration of war crossed to France, where he was subsequently engaged on important duties with the Military Foot Police. He served at Etaples, Le Havre, Boulogne and Calais and at the conclusion of hostilities proceeded with the Army of Occupation to Germany where in 1920 he was still stationed. He holds the 1914 Star, (not on medal card), and the General Service and Victory Medals. Awarded the Victory and War Medals. |
