| Notes: | MPSC. Awarded the 1915 Star, Victory and War Medals. First served abroad (1) France, 15/8/1915. Formerly Sgt. Grenadier Guards, No. 15234. National Roll of the Great War 1914-1918, Section V, Luton, page 12. He was serving at the outbreak of war, and proceeded to France in August 1915. While in this theatre of war he took a prominent part in several important engagements, and in November 1916 was wounded in action on the Somme. He also served in the Grenadier Guards and did excellent work at General Headquarters.
