Thomas Piggott.

National Roll of the Great War 1914 -1918, Section XI, Manchester, Page 299.
He volunteered in February 1915, and after a few months service in Ireland, proceeded to France in the following September, and did good work in connection with engagements near Arras, Ypres, Messines and Cambrai. In November he was transferred to Italy, and was engaged on the Piave front. Returning to France in March 1918, he was in the retreat of that Spring, and then unfortunately contracted trench fever, which resulted in his being sent to a Base Hospital. On recovery he did duty with the Mounted Police at a French Coast Station until demobilised in July 1919. He holds the Queen's and King's South African Medals, the 1914-15 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals.
