His name is spelt J L Timberville on medal card and medal roll. A letter in his Army Record dated 4/1/18 states: Sir, Reference attached documents of Lance Corporal Turberville, Military Foot Police. This non-commissioned officer suffered from rheumatism before being called up for service and had a doctor's certificate in his possession to that effect. It will be noticed that he did not report sick during the time he was at home and whilst at Calais Base, but reported sick the following day on arrival at HQ, 5 Army on 7/9/17.
