Of these years 15 have been spent in the Military foot Police and the last 12 moths at Woolwich. Provost Sergeant Creswell presided and in making the presentation, said the he was very sorry to lose Sergeant Todd, who has given every satisfaction in the performance of his duties at Woolwich. he explained that there was a rule in the Military Foot Police which prevented Sergeant Todd from remaining after 21years service, the rule being made in the interests of a more rapid promotion. He handed to the Sergeant a handsome marble clock and two bronze ornaments, which had been subscribed for by his comrades and friends in the town. A brooch for Mrs Todd was present. Sergeant Todd acknowledging expressed his pleasure at finding that the Military Foot Police were so well treated at Woolwich. His experience here was a contrast to that in some other garrisons.
