News has been received of the death by accident in Bruges, Belgium on Monday of L/Cpl Brian James Mountford youngest son of Mr E C Mountford and the late Mrs G Mountford of Salt Lodge Farm, Salt, whilst serving with his unit of the Royal Corps of Military Police. An old boy of Stone Secondary Modern School he was withing a few weeks of finishing his term of National Service. Prior to enrolment he was employed by Goal Square Garage, Stafford. Early this week efforts were being made to have his body brought home for burial at Salt, and it is expected that the funeral will take place today.
