| Notes: | CMP. POW. He was born in Warrington and resided in Preston. Shown as Cyril Davies in Army roll of Honour and Joseph in CWGC entry. He has no known grave, Captured 15/2/1942 Singapore. Shown in Cutts papers as being in Japan. He died on the Japanese ship Kachiduki Maru which was sunk north east of Hainan Island off China on the 12/9/1942 on route to Japan. It was sunk by the USS submarine Pampanito, it had 900 POW's on board and over 400 were drowned.
