Found in other documents: Trial of 244490 Gnr, Chadwick, 7 Reserve Battery, RFA, AWOL from 15/1/1918. 3rd Witness: No. P/7360 L/Cpl R Weller, MFP states: At Preston on June 25th 1918 about 9.45 pm I was on duty at the railway station when I saw the accused Gnr Joseph Chadwick. I asked him to produce his pass. He said "I have no pass and have been absent since January 15th 1918. I then conducted him to the main guardroom Fulwood Barracks and handed him over to the NCO in charge. The accused declined to cross examine this witness.
