Citation:   No. 6343588 Warrant Officer Class II (Company Sergeant Major) Douglas Harry Mott, The Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment (Walmer, Kent). MM Citation. 8 Indian Division, 21 Indian Inf Bde, 13 Corps, 5 Royal West Kent Regiment. WS/WOII (CSM) 6343588 Mott Douglas Harry. On 24th April, 1944 one post in CASSINO Station area received a direct hit, causing nineteen casualties. CSM Mott, leaving Coy HQ under direct observation, went to this post, restored order and calm, organised an emergency dressing station and conducted wounded to and from it several times. Throughout this period enemy shelling continued to harass the party. CSM Mot, by his example and complete indifference to the shelling and his own personal safety inspired all and enabled the evacuation of wounded to be carried out without further loss.
