News has been received by Mr and Mrs J E Smith of Wheatridge, Burton, Wirral formerly of Wallasey, of the death in the Twenty Second General Hospital, at Padua, Italy of their only son, Lance Corporal Bruce Smith, 112th Provost Coy, Corps of Royal Military Police, CMF in his twentieth year. He was taken to hospital suffering from head injuries as a result of his jeep colliding with a lamp standard. He joined the Army two years ago, served with the King's Own Royal Regiment for twelve months, and volunteering for the Military Police was transferred last February to the CRMP, and had been in Italy eleven months.
