Notes:	CMP. War Diary WO 172/9903, 26 Indian Div Pro Unit: 6/6/46 Cpl Longford reports from Belawan that L/Cpl Packer was shot by Indian Other Rank sentry whilst returning from patrol. L/Cpl Packer died in 124 Indian General Hospital from gunshot wound in abdomen. 7/6/46 APM, DAPM and units representatives attended funeral of L/Cpl Packer. Herbert Packer.
