At the Sheffield Coroner's Court, yesterday, an inquest was held on the body of Lance Corporal Allan Todd, of the Military Foot Police who died at the Sheffield Base Hospital on Sunday morning as the result of a bicycle accident on Friday night, when he was thrown from his machine on the Tuxford Road, Worksop, and sustained a fracture of the base of the skull. He never regained consciousness after his fall, and as the accident occurred late at night (about 10.45) and two comrades cycling with him were in front, no one actually saw how the accident happened. A verdict was returned to the effect that deceased died from fracture of the skull due to a bicycle accident.
