Information has this week been received by Mrs Eddenden, Moorlands Road, Camberley that her third son Serjeant Albert John Eddenden, Military Foot Police, had died of wounds on the battlefield during the recent fighting in France. The late Serjeant6 Eddenden, one of four brothers serving in the army, originally joining the Royal Horse Guards, The Blues, which he left to enter the City of London Police. He had served in the City Police for fourteen years when Lord Kitchener mad his call for men, and re joining the Army, Serjeant Eddenden was posted to the Military Foot Police and sent to France. The Deputy Provost Marshal, 2 Army, writing to his mother says "His loss to the Corps of Military Police is great, as he was an extremely efficient policeman and popular with all ranks.
