Served Home 6/9/1900 to 5/8/1901, South Africa 6/8/1901 to 25/9/1902, Home 26/9/1902 to 19/5/1905, Egypt 20/5/1905 to 23/3/1911, Home 24/3/1911 to 14/8/1914, BEF 15/8/1914 to 19/9/1914, Home 20/9/1914. Transferred to MMP 15/10/1904. Died at Fort Pitt Hospital, Chatham from wounds received in action serving with the Exp Force, admitted 21/9/1914, died 23/9/1914, Shell wound developed tetanus. Widow Alice Ada, born 2/1/1885, address: Malvern, Union Street, Farnborough, they had one child Jocelyn Alice Maud born 5/11/1912. 24/3/1915 his widow recerived 16/- per week pension. Richard George Crossman. Extract from the East Anglian Daily Times 28 October 1914. A further communique announces that Sergt. R G Crossman, Military Mounted Police, has died of wounds.
