He had previously served in the 19 London Regiment TA, time expired. 18/9/1909 he married Mary Ann Smith, Spinster at the Registry Office, Islington, London, address 121 St Mary's Road, Ilford. 7/7/1916 he was appointed A/Assistant Provost Sergeant of Harwich Garrison. 22/6/1918 his widow received the following property: 1 9ct Gold Ring, note book (black), case, letters, charm with chain, french book, small note book, leather belt (damaged) 3 Discs. He was killed with No. P/1975 Sgt Dallas MFP.
