Extract from the Wiltshire Times and Trowbridge Advertiser, 25/11/1944. YARN BROOK MILITARY POLICEMAN "MISSING". News was received by Mrs M Webb, of "West View," Yarnbrook, on Wednesday last week that her younger son, Pte Benjamin Robert Webb was reported "missing" on November 7th. Pte Webb, of the Corps of Military Police is in his late thirties, and is a native of Yarnbrook, where his has lived all his life. He is well known in the village, and there are a sister and elder married brother. He himself was unmarried. As a boy he attended West Ashton School. He joined up four years ago, and a year later was transferred to the Military Police. A letter was received from him by his family a few days previous to the notice reporting that he was missing.
