War Diary 53 Div Pro Coy, WO 171/569. 21/7/44 All 7 CMP casualties in this cemetery are from 53 Div Pro Coy and were killed when the POW cage they were guarding was bombed. Also killed L/Cpl's Benjafield, Church, Greenstreet, Harris, Hazzard and Penson. . They were all buried in Bronay Cemetery the following day. No mention of L/Cpl Ward who died on the same day.
