Former Constable Reported Killed. official intimation was received on Christmas Day that ex PC James Tyson, who was called up as a reservist from the Burnley Borough Police Force, was killed during the fighting in Belgium. He had been reported missing since last June. A native of Egremont, Cumberland he served in the Coldstream Guards before joining the Burnley Police Force in 1934. After the outbreak of war he rejoined his regiment, but was later transferred to the Corps of Military Police.
