Died in a Burma Prison Camp. Duncan Tweedale. Official notification has been received from the War Office that L/Cpl Duncan Tweeddale, age 36, 18th Divisional Provost Company, Corps of Military Police died from malaria and dysentery while a prisoner of war in Tambaya Hospital Camp, Burma. On September 2, 1943 L/Cpl Tweeddale was reported missing after the fall of Singapore. He was the youngest son of Mr and Mrs Peter C Tweeddale, 48 Beechwood Mount, Burley, Leeds and was formerly employed in the composing department of "The Yorkshire Post".
