News has been received of the death in Egypt from Dysentery and Malaria on the 10th inst of PC Sidney W Russell, formerly stationed at Barton, Newport, whose parents live at Binstead, who was 27 years of age. He joined the Military Foot Police in October 1915 and went out to Egypt when he transferred to the 1/8 Hampshire Regiment (Princess Beatrice's Isle of Wight Rifles) and served in the Palestine campaign with them. He is the 5th member of the County Constabulary lost in the war.
