| Citation: Citation: Major Peterkin has been APM of 12 L of C Area since its formation. From the time that this Headquarters arrived in the B.L.A. in Aug 1944 he has been confronted with problems of considerable complexity and magnitude and he has surmounted these with remarkable ability in every case. Throughout the period his task has been to supervise all Provost activities in the Area (comprising several Sub Areas) whilst the means at his disposal, both in Staff and in Provost units, have been of necessity just adequate for the purpose. By his energy, personal example, sound good sense and knowledge of Provost duties he has fulfilled his manifold responsibilities with marked success.
In addition to normal Provost duties he has displayed untiring zeal in the elimination of the widespread 'black market' activities affecting the troops, and his efforts in this direction have been the means of recovery of considerable sums of public money. He has furthermore by his forceful personality, ensured the willing cooperation of the French police services.
