Served Home 25/11/1916 to 30/5/1917, BEF 31/5/1917 to 12/10/1917, Home 13/10/1917 to 9/2/1919. 19/7/1917 suffered from synovitis on knee. 26/1/1915 he married Elizabeth Ann Reores, St Mary's Church, Eley, they had 3 children. 9/2/1919 shown as receiving £2 on the Thetford Demobilization Acquittance Roll. 2 x Letters in his Army Documents, 29/12/1916, Will you please cause 47560 Pte R Simpkins to be questioned as to the paternity of the child Francis Thomas Reeves, born 2/7/1914. Does he admit paternity , as he always contributed to the child's support. Reply 4/1/1917. Pte Simpkins does not admit the paternity of the child in question but stated that since hi marriage he has always supported it being the child of his wife prior to wedlock.
