Citation:   Northern Ireland, 1/4/1995 - 30/9/1995. Awarded for his part in coming to the aid of a wounded RUC Constable and organising his casualty evacuation after the IRA brought down a Army Lynx helicopter (ZD275) on the 20/3/94 at Crossmaglen Army Base with a home made mortar bomb. Cpl W Cookson RLC was awarded the Queen's Gallantry Medal in the same incident.
